About Us

Our beautiful crest was designed by Debra Jo Radke. Do you know the symbolism behind the pictures?

Arrow - for power against her enemies

Clover - her homeland

Eternal Flame - for Brigit’s spirited flame alive and well today

Magpie - for its brightly colored plumage and its penchant to collect things

Peonies - for magical powers. There are eight, one for each founding member.

Shell - for femininity and fertility

Wheat - for abundant productivity

Wave pattern - for wisdom

In ancient times Bhrigid was synonymous with “Goddess”. Brigit is considered the Triple Goddess; hence the triangular shapes in our crest. She embodies the Maiden for purity & innocence the Mother for comfort & fruitfulness, and the Crone for wisdom & healing.

The plaited rushes are created on St. Brigit Day which is February 1, and placed over the threshold.
